Hiya! Its been a while... I dont know if there's anyone around who still remember me, but I was that strange girl who ran "the quaff" archives before the hosting disappeared. I havent been around for a long time, and for that I apologize, life (and gaming) took over my spare time and I havent read fanfics for the duration. Ive started Uni (aiming for a didactics mastery) and am currently working on "danish(English Lit to you )". In that regard, Im due a "module assignment" on genre. Ive chosen to write a essay (cause a fairytale was just too common) and my topic will be MarySue. Now, I know who marysue is, and why we(authors) write her, but im slightly stuck finding examples from (welknown)published works. (as using fanfic as example seems somewhat... noncredible.) Beren in Tolkiens works is a obvious MarySue, but only because he told us himself. Then I was thinking Dan Browns Robert Langdon smells of Marysue as well, but this is where I get stuck... Can you think of any more MarySues from literature or film? and Is there anything point in particular I should mention in my essay? Id absolutely love your input, as the master authors behind so many of the characters I love the most(some Marys, some not), and hope you'll forgive me my absence and take the time to help me out Yours, Miriam
